What are Shared Playlists

Shared Playlist allow for a playlist created by one TrilbyTV site to be shared as a single (view-only) item to another TrilbyTV site.

NOTE

Shared Playlists are only available as part of a Multisite Licence purchase.

Sharing playlists allows Multisite owners, such as Multi Academy Trusts, to centrally create and share content to their member schools, which can then be assigned to signage at a site level. It's a great way for Trusts to create brand-aligned messaging that can be shared easily to many school sites, ensuring content is always up-to-date and minimising the need to copy or approve content to each site whenever it changes.


How to Create a Shared Playlist

  1. Log in to your TrilbyTV account and access your MAT/HQ Site
  2. Create your content inside TrilbyTV as you normally would, e.g create your slideshow, add a Google Sheets document, add a Video, Instagram or Title slide, etc
  3. Access Playlists from the sidebar and click Add Playlist
  4. Using the Add tab, select all the items you wish to be included to your playlist. You can rearrange these using the Order tab to create your desired playlist
  5. Name your playlist, turn on Share Playlist option and then click Save


  6. Click Share to, to open the Site selector. Use the Search to filter sites, or click Select All.
    1. Optionally tick the Approve content on target TrilbyTV option to automatically Approve the content item once added. This is helpful if your sites area already set up to playback All Categories on their screens.


  7. Once you have selected the schools, click Continue to begin the adding process
  8. Once added, all sites will be listed in the Playlist Sidebar
  9. To remove a site, simply click the Delete icon next to their name

NOTE

You will need to be able to log in to any site you want to copy a playlist to.


Viewing Shared Playlists

Once copied to a new site, a Shared Playlist appears in the Content Feed like any other content.

If you didn't approve the item during the earlier step, you can Approve the from the feed, or click Edit to change options.

NOTE

You are not able to edit the contents of a Shared Playlist from within a site. You do have access to playback options for that site, allowing you to set auto-unapprove and delete options, as well as apply any categories or groups you need to manage the content item. Editing a Shared Playlist can only be done on the Multisite HQ account.


To show a Shared Playlist on your signage, simply assign it to the playback settings as you would with a single content item. You can do this either via categories, by adding it to another playlist, or setting it as Single item.

You can also assign a Shared Playlist to be used as an announcement.
