Video Quality Settings

All video added to TrilbyTV is compressed in several formats suitable for playback by TrilbyTV Player apps on devices from different manufacturers and in our web players.

By default, we save the video at a Standard Definition (480) resolution, which provides good quality and reasonable file sizes. This makes it fast to download and helps to save memory space on player devices.

If you have a large format High Definition screen and would like the video to be saved in higher resolutions to increase the quality, you can do this in the System Dashboard. When you turn the video quality settings on, the system will begin to recompress any videos in your content feed. This will take some time.

Changing Video Quality

Turning on HD 720 Video will recompress your videos to 720 resolution. This will only work on videos with an original upload quality of 720 or higher.

Turning on Full HD 1080 Video will recompress your videos to 1080 resolution. This will only work on videos with an original upload quality of 1080 or higher.

Turning on Ultra HD 4k Video will recompress your videos to 4k resolution. This will only work on videos with an original upload quality of 4k or higher.

Notes:

  1. The source video file you upload is always saved and can be downloaded from the Edit or view page by the owner or an Admin user.
  2. The frame rate or FPS (Frames Per Second) of the original file are preserved in all of our compression formats, other than HLS which is used for streaming on some iOS devices.
