Installing TrilbyTV Player on a Vestel UHM signage screen
IMPORTANT
These instructions are for Vestel displays with part numbers UHMxxx
These screens run a Linux OS. TrilbyTV Player on these screens will need to run as a Web page.
In order to launch a web browser automatically, you firstly need to add the start URL page, and then set the screen to launch Browser automatically.
Stage 1. Starturl.txt
Create a file named starturl.txt in the root directory of any USB storage device. Make sure that the extension is “txt”. This would normally be created using Notepad (assuming you are using a Windows PC). The notepad file simply needs the desired URL included for example https://player.trilbytv.co.uk.
Stage 2. USB Operations
Insert the USB into the display and navigate to the Signage Settings>USB menu and select USB operations.
This action copies the file into the display, and the start URL can be seen if you go into the Links section of the Signage setting menu.
Stage 3. Auto Launch Browser
In order to set the browser to launch automatically (rather than pressing the browser button on the remote or launching form the menu).
Go to Signage settings >Controls and change autolaunch to Browser
